Chandrashekarendra Saraswati (1894 - 1994)

Picture

Kanchi Mahaswamigal as he was often referred to is one of the most famous and truly divine souls that the people of Tamil Nadu were lucky to have witnessed in the last century.  If you have an opportunity to talk to any individual who has had the good fortune to spend some time, however insignificant with this great saint, you are likely to see the same reaction time and time again.  The reaction would be a combination of awe, love, respect and adoration at the same time.
